We are pleased to highlight the participation of the WinPhoS researchers at CLEO 2026, held in Charlotte, NC, USA.
Dr. Dimitris Bellas presented his work entitled “Slow-Light-Enhanced Plasmo-Photonic Refractive Index Sensor for Record-High Sensitivity Performance”, while Mrs. Lamprini Damakoudi presented “Group-Index Engineered Bimodal Plasmo-Photonic Interferometric Sensor for Enhanced Sensitivity”. Both contributions come from the WinPhoS Research Group.
These works were supported by the European H2020 project AMBROSIA.
We sincerely thank both researchers for their dedication and excellent work.
We were delighted to welcome last week Dr. Hideyuki Nasu from Furukawa Electric, Japan, to our lab in Thessaloniki, Greece!
During his visit, Dr. Nasu introduced the company’s work and highlighted recent advancements and research directions in optical communications through his presentation titled: “Introduction to Furukawa Electric and FITEL Products – Research on VCSEL-based Transceivers and High Optical Power External Laser Sources for Co-Packaged Optics (CPO)”.
We sincerely thank Dr. Nasu for his visit and valuable contribution, as we are exploring future perspectives in photonics technologies.
WinPhoS researcher Mr. Theodoros Moschos presented the paper "A zero-electrical-power Silicon Photonic Ternary Content
Addressable Memory Bank" at OFC 2026 (March 7-11) in Los Angeles, California, USA.
